Langundowi earns the
OA National Service Award.

Congratulations are in order to all the members of Langundowi, your hard work has not gone un-noticed. Each year since its inception in 1999, Langundowi has submitted a nomination for the OA National Service Award. This year we were honored to receive the award. The scouts and scouters of the French Creek Council have something to be proud of as well.

The award is presented annually to two lodges in each region (8 nationally) that demonstrated exceptional service to Scouting, their council, and their camp. Langundowi continues to contribute in excess of 3000 man-hours of service to Custaloga Town each year. This coupled with the materials donated results in a saving to the council, and a benefit to you the scouts and scouters of the council, of more than $20,000. Much of the service provided could not be purchased for this money and it is greatly appreciated by the council executive board.

Pictured below is Dan Myers (Thachter) accepting the award from Ed Lyons – OA Northeast Region Chief at the National BSA Committee Meeting in Chicago. Dan is joined by Lodge Adviser Richard Eakin (Deac) and Ed by Randy Cline, OA Regional Adviser.

The award will be at lodge functions through the Fall Conclave, then be on display in the service center for all of the members of French Creek Council to see.

Again Congratulations to ALL the members of Langundowi.
